A small café on Lebuh Cintra, run with a lot of heart.
chucafe8 opened in 2021 in the heart of George Town's heritage zone — a quiet shophouse where the owner still presses every sandwich himself.
The number 8 is for our address — and for a little luck.
We sit at 8 Lebuh Cintra, on one of George Town's most storied streets — surrounded by heritage shophouses, traditional trades and the slow rhythm of the old town. 厝 (chù) means "home" in Hokkien, and that's what we set out to build: a small, honest café that feels like one.
The kitchen is small and the team is smaller — most days, the owner is the one toasting your bread, building your sandwich and pouring your coffee. That's why guests keep telling us the food tastes like someone actually cared. Because someone did.

Sandwiches, slowly.
Our menu is intentionally small. We focus on what we do best — pressed sandwiches, thick-cut toasts, a hearty Big Breakfast and a short list of drinks we'd actually order ourselves. Add a glass of organic wine in the late afternoon and you have a good day.
More than a cup.
From the HEC Sandwich to the Classic Beef — pressed to order, every time.
On Lebuh Cintra, surrounded by the trades and shopfronts of old George Town.
Small space, real conversation, music we actually like.
